Each tile displayed here is a shortcut to parts of the software, so it's easy to get to the screens we use most.
We're currently looking at a multi-student view. If we'd prefer to view just one student, we can go to the upper-left corner and select the student there.
Now, we see just the tiles for one student.
Each student's tiles are going to look a little bit different. For example, for this student, we see there's an online form that needs our attention.
This feature also comes in handy when looking at things like the calendar. If we look at the calendar for multiple students at once, we're able to see everyone's attendance records, assignments, calendar events, club events, and day rotations.
So, our shortcuts are on the dashboard, but the main menu is where we find everything in Family Access.
Another helpful tool is Global Search. This is a super-powerful way to search within Family Access.
The part of the screen we see here is the dock. It stays pinned, so we can easily navigate to these areas from other screens in the system.
To return to the home screen at any point, we can just click the Skyward logo at the top or click the home button.
If we want to customize our profile, we can make those changes in User Preferences.
Our name will display here with a photo icon, and we can change the color theme and user preference options under this dropdown.
Chances are our school will send us messages through the Message Center. We can view those communications here.
So, that's a quick overview of navigating the Family Access dashboard in Skyward.
Once you familiarize yourself with it, it's an easy way to keep tabs on your child's education.
