Qmlativ Spotlight: An Easier Way to Set Up Family and Student Access

Great news! We consolidated all configurations for Family and Student Access into one place in Skyward. Now when you want to adjust what parents and students see in their portals, it’s easy to make changes.

As anyone who has adjusted these settings in the past knows, there are a lot of different configurations that determine what will display. When these configurations were scattered throughout the software, it could be difficult to know where to look.

We wanted to simplify this process, so we created a new module called Portal Access. The image below is a screenshot of the landing page you’ll see when you go to Portal Access > Family/Student Access Configurations. On the left, you’ll see a list of all the areas you can configure in Family Access and Student Access. Note that you can disable the different tiles in Family/Student Access and can set the date/time each should be disabled until.

We also created a new utility, Copy Family/Student Access Setup, that you can use to clone settings from one entity to another. For example, if you have five elementary schools set up the same way, you can use this utility to set configurations for one elementary school, then copy those settings to the other four.

You can check out additional documentation in the Help Center.

Ready to get started?

Skyward users with security access to Portal Access can head to this new module and start adjusting settings right away!

We hope Portal Access will make it easier for you adjust what parents and students see in Family and Student Access. Be sure to subscribe to Skyward Insider to stay in the know on other product updates and enhancements coming your way!
