STEVENS POINT, Wis. (October 5, 2020) – Skyward, an administrative software provider committed to a better experience for every user, is pleased to announce their eight scholarship winners from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point (UWSP) and Mid-State Technical College (Mid-State) for the 2020-2021 academic year. These employee-funded scholarships rewarded to students receiving technology and business-related degrees reflect Skyward’s commitment to education and to enriching the technology career field.

Recipients from Mid-State include Chase Wilcott of Mosinee, Dominic Perrine of Marshfield, and Andy Klumb of Nekoosa. All three students are pursuing degrees in the IT Software Developer program. Since 2002, Skyward has supported students enrolled at Mid-State, with 54 scholarships awarded to date. The winners received their scholarship at the 40th Annual Scholarship Reception held Thursday, September 17 at Mid-State's Wisconsin Rapids campus.

“Mid-State Technical College Foundation appreciates the strong industry connection and enjoys our continued partnership with Skyward and its employees,” said Jill Steckbauer, foundation and alumni director at Mid-State. “Mid-State’s strong partnerships ensure students are exposed to the most current training and technology. With such support, I get the privilege of seeing the impact these scholarships have on our students every day.”

“The support of individuals and businesses, such as Skyward, helps break down the barrier of high education costs, while helping students achieve their dream of a college education,” Steckbauer added. “Skyward creates reassurance in students that others believe in them.”

Five UWSP students also received scholarships from Skyward. The recipients include Tayyib Ciftci of Plover, Benjamin Smits of Shawano, Tyler Paplham of Algoma, Tate Rauman of Wausau, and Joseph Stranz of Stevens Point. The degrees being pursued by recipients at the university include computer information systems, data analytics, and business administration.

“UW-Stevens Point and the Computing and New Media Technologies Department appreciate our ongoing partnership with Skyward and recognize the support they provide in the funding of scholarships to help our students advance in their careers,” said department chair Tim Krause. “We witness first-hand the impact these scholarships have on the students in our programs. The support offered from organizations like Skyward provide tangible assurance that they have the ability to complete their degrees and achieve their professional goals.”

Skyward’s academic scholarships are funded through employee donations and company-matched contributions.
