This year we are making holiday shopping easy with our favorite gadgets, gift boxes, STEM projects, and work-from-home items.

Skyward started from the ground up, so we know the power of supporting small businesses, artisans, and makers. (That power? Dreams coming true.) That's why we chose many of the items on this list from small businesses and makers in the US.

Note: Prices are current as of publication date and may fluctuate throughout the season.

work home

New work-from-home employees

Many folks are finding themselves as new work-from-home employees with makeshift offices. These items are thoughtful ways to improve their spaces and even boost productivity.

Custom laptop sleeve ($54.99): These handmade laptop sleeves by Bertie’s Closet are a great way to keep a laptop sleek and safe. Click on the maker’s site on Amazon to see a variety of colors and patterns.

Standing desk ($89.50): Give the gift of health and wellness this year with a standing desk. The height for the laptop/monitor and keyboard are totally customizable, making this a great gift for any work-from-home employee or student.

Murphy/floating desk ($199.00): Whether you have a little or a lot of space to dedicate to your WFH office, this Murphy desk will add a lot of value and function. You can "close up shop" at the end of the day, seamlessly allowing you to truly separate your work life from your home life.

Lap desk ($96.79): This lap desk is perfect for small spaces—or for those who prefer to work from their comfy couch.

Personalized mousepad ($31.72): Add a touch of customized-chic to any home office with a sturdy, personalized mousepad.

STEM learning at home

'Tis the season for creativity and science from the comfort of home! You can't go wrong with an activity for the whole family to enjoy.

Root beer science kit ($16): Young foodies and scientists will love this DIY root beer kit. And as a delicious bonus, the root beer is all natural!

Create your own published storybook kit ($30): Creative kids can bring their ideas to life with this storybook kit! They can doodle and write on the pages, and then mail it in to have it turned into a hardcover copy.

Magic of Science experiment kit ($15): Children can show off 20 impressive experiments to their friends and family with this Magic of Science kit. Part magic, part science; 100% fun.

Build your own pinball game ($49.95): Why buy an arcade game when kids can make one themselves? After the basic design is complete, kids can add their own creative touch by designing the obstacles and theme.
